Topic 4 Understanding the concept of intersectionality and distinguish between normal  and abusive behavior

Explaining Intersectionality in the GBV

Intersectionality help us understand that victims of GBV can experience violence from various sources, such as gender, culture, religion and sexual orientation, either individually or intersecting. It allows us to focus on every situation of violence separately and to analyse the reasons behind them, providing interveners with the necessary backgrounds to recognize the multiple identities and institutional structures that disempower women and marginalized women.
