Topic 2 Recognize different types of violence

Violence includes  various forms and types, each requiring different approaches for detection, symptom identification, and prevention. Understanding these differences is vital for creating safer environments for all individuals.

Economic

  • Entails the exertion of control over all financial resources, aiming to enforce financial dependency, while restricting the victim from pursuing employment or education opportunities.

Psychological

  • Any behavior that inducing fear via threats of physical harm towards the victim or their close ones, or through isolation of the victim.

Verbal

  • Verbal violence is systematic and purposeful verbal attacks targeting an individual’s sensitive spots, causing emotional harm, humiliation, and often involving threats or derogatory comments based on personal characteristics or background.

Physical

  • Any action that involves hurting or trying to hurt someone physically.

Sexual

  • Any sexual act committed against the will of another person.
