Violence is a phenomenon often found in sports throughout history and constitutes a pathogeny that needs to be thoroughly addressed. Part of this is Gender-based violence in sports, with the main victims being women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Although this phenomenon can take many forms, exactly because of that it is harder to detect. While a matter may not take its full dimension in a single day, it is important to detect the root cause of it, in order to neutralize the factors that cause this manifestation of violence. While it is everybody’s duty to help and protect any victim to GBV and to the right degree, coaches and athletes engaged in the field are more crucial for the effective mitigation of Gender Based Violence.
